This box set of albums from Israeli jazz bassist Avishai Cohen communicates and celebrates the diverse cultural influences on his life and music. Cohen's music is deeply influenced by his Moorish and Jewish heritage and his upbringing in Israel and America. To show this, the centerpieces reference architectural ornament found in Middle Eastern and Moorish architecture. I designed the typeface for the titles and headings throughout the booklet as an interpretation of this geometry in a modern context. Meanwhile, the balance and starkness of the overall composition pull from tradition of jazz album cover design established by Reid Miles in his designs for Blue Note Records in the 1950s and 60s.
